Bathroom Cleaning

Of all the household chores out there, we’ll bet money that if you ask anybody what their least favourite one is, the answer will be a unanimous, “Cleaning the bathroom!” And really, what’s to like about it? Getting on your hands and knees to scrub mildew out of tiles, trying not to be grossed-out while removing streaks from the toilet bowl, and trying to get off that stubborn soap scum from your shower head are certainly not appealing tasks in anyone’s eyes.

But what if we told you there was a way to never spend more than a minute getting your bathroom nice and clean? It sounds like something out of a dream world, but trust us - it’s possible in real life!

Behold, the guide that will change your life forever (at least when it comes to chores): How to Keep Your Bathroom Clean in One Minute a Day

Getting Started

To begin, you’ll want to prepare your bathroom to make this task a little easier for yourself. This involves two key steps:

  1. Remove anything that doesn’t need to be stored in the bathroom. It can be tempting to keep odds and ends on bathroom counters and in drawers, but trust us when we say they’re going to make your job a lot harder. Toss the stuff you don’t need, and keep the rest in organized boxes where they won’t collect dust and scum.
  2. Keep all-purpose cleaners in easily accessible places, like under the sink. This way if you notice a stain or spill, you can deal with it instantly instead of hunting for cleaning products in other parts of the house.

Everyday Tips

Now that you’ve prepared your bathroom for the one-minute clean, the trick is following some simple everyday tips.

  1. Sweep Once Everyday (or two)
  2. Make an effort to give your bathroom floor a quick sweep once every day. It will only take seconds, and you’ll never have to deal with a thick build-up of dust and dirt.

  3. Leave the Sink Clean After Brushing Your Teeth
  4. Once of the worst offenders in a messy bathroom, is dried out toothpaste in the sink. After brushing your teeth, make sure to quickly wipe away any residue that doesn’t make it down the sink. It will be so much easier than dealing with dried out toothpaste.

  5. Wipe the Counters Before Bed
  6. After brushing your teeth before bed, give the countertops a quick wipe down. Completing this nightly ritual will take no more than 10 seconds of energy, and you’ll always wake up to a clean and clear counter.

  7. Invest in a Gel Disc for the Toilet
  8. Many cleaning companies sell “gel discs” that can be discreetly placed in your toilet bowl to give it a quick clean every time you flush it. You’ll still need to give it a wipe down every so often, but it’ll take a fraction of the time.

  9. Stay on Top of Trash
  10. It’s much easier to take out the trash as soon as it’s full rather than when it’s overflowing. Don’t procrastinate, just do it, and you’ll save hours of time in the long run!
